On the Fifth Day of Christmas {Sew Seasonal Blog Hop}

Honestly?  I just like picking catchy song lyrics for my titles to drive Erin crazy...heh heh...

Welcome to day 5 of the Sew Seasonal Blog Hop!
Kristy at Quiet Play and Alyce at Blossom Heart Quilts are sharing 25 (FREE!) Christmas-themed block patterns!  Hope you are all ready to feel in the mood to get your holiday DIY started...

My pattern to try was the lovely Ornament Number 5.  And since I am in the middle of moving I didn't really have time to make a whole big project like a quilt.  However, I didn't want my block to be lonely either so what did I do?  I made a pillow cover using the 10" pattern directions.

I substituted the white background suggested in the pattern for linen as it goes better with my velvety brown couch.  Unfortunately, for fear that I would run out of time to create them or pack them away once they were created the pillow covers have been on my couch since mid-October and are looking a bit wrinkled loved!  Good to know if you are debating linen pillow covers.

I've been so crazed lately that it wasn't until YESTERDAY that I realized that the little pink ornaments in the blue fabric are a similar ornament design to the whole pattern.  Ha!

Of course I couldn't let my little ornament pillow cover be lonely...so I made a Christmas Tree too...  Isn't he cute?

Now these guys really have to be put away until December.  I'm getting some raised eyebrows when people come to the house right now.  Hahahahaa...hey what can I say I love Christmas!

These are lovely. And I think wrinkliness is just part of the charm of linen :)

Lovely! I really like the look of linen - never mind a few wrinkles!

Yeah thanks for that Becca. Bloody song. Makes me think of "The Office" episode where Andy gets Erin all the things from it... and she gets attacked by the birds.

Love the cushions. Especially the tree (if I'm allowed to say that considering the hop?!?!). ;)
