GIVEAWAY! Thursday Think Tank Holiday Hop - Last Chance!

Things at work have been RIDICULOUS these past few weeks.  However, I had an important appearance in court this morning (my last one before Christmas...or actually 2013) and I am feeling So Much Better!

To top off my work stress I have had Low Volume Swap stress.  Would you believe that my local post office (remember I live in a rural area) ran out of International Customs Forms or whatever they call them.  First, they had me fill out the wrong papers.  Then they told me (the next time I stopped in, mind you, with a new load of packages) to fix the previous set of packages which someone had incorrectly advised me to fill out.  Then they ran out of the forms so only some packages were mailed in the first batch.  Then I went into the city to get MORE forms and send packages from there, then I had a last load which had issues with the package weight/size or some nonsense.  Dude, I had long lines to wait in Brooklyn but I never dealt with issues like this!  Agh, sometimes I miss city living!!!

SO.  If you are in the swap and got your package YAY!  If you are waiting on your package and are international then read above, you must be one of the handful of packages requiring certain forms which are MIA because a) I live in the middle of nowhere and apparently supplies are hard to come by and b) 'tis the season where they run out of everything anyway, so even if they HAD these forms there wouldn't be too many to begin with and I've used them all up.

This is really going to generate some bad karma in the mailing/swap area of my life.  Grrrr...

Between work, finishing up the swap, and living out of boxes...well I need a damn vacation.

Instead, let me take this opportunity to have a moment of zen.DSC_0007

WHAT IS GOING ON IN YOUR THINK TANK THIS WEEK?
HERE ARE THE RULES!
  1. Link up any post from the past week that features some creative thinking going on in your creative world.   It can be anything, quilting, home improvement, fashion, crafting, DIY gifts, cooking...whatever you have recently thought "hmmm, you know what I should create" is perfectly appropriate for the Think Tank.  TTT is all about whatever you are currently brainstorming and would like feedback or encouragement on!
  2. Somewhere in your post, link back here to my blog. (Or grab the T.T.T. button for your sidebar.)
  3. Comment on at least a few of the other links—because what fun is a linky party without comments

Thank you for braving the post office and the city just to get the swap packages out. I will let you know when mine arrives, I am in no hurry. The cookies look good, I hope it was a fun time.

You really have had a tough time as swap mama, but you have dealt with it so well that I am pretty sure all the swap karma coming back your way will be good so don't fret about that.

I haven't had an email from you asking for the postage costs from the international shipping on the swap . I am worried I might have missed it.

Isn't country living...peaceful and challenging at the same time? I love living in BFE (my childrens' assessment) - just love the 75 miles - one way - to do regular grocery shopping. Have a Merry Christmas and an exceptionally productive New Year!

I know it has been several weeks since you posted this account of mail life and its too late to do much about it, but if you go online and make a profile at USPS you can pay for shipping (even international) print forms and so on. I don't suppose your local po would allow you to schedule a pick up like I can do in the big city but if you can atleast have the paperwork taken care of at home next time then you will have less to worry about. The thing that bothered me was that they didn't call you to let you know before you walked in. I mean for international shipments don't you have to include your phone number? I am very sorry that you had to go through all this! (i used to work in a campus mail room, so I have heard all sorts of stories)
