New Year, New Resolutions: Fabriholics Anonymous Begins!

FabAnon
This is it!  I have been avoiding any thoughts about this day all week...I received my last minute fabric gifts under the tree and now it is time to dive into the fast.  (to learn more go here)  If you've checked out the pledge linky then you will see that Jess & I are not alone!  There are now 52 participants!
To spread a smile amongst my fellow fasters I am sharing a few pics of my youngest, Miss O.  She is constantly trying to catch up to her sisters and her latest achievement is to climb into their toddler chairs instead of sitting safely in her highchair...

She is always so satisfied after reaching the top!  At this point she is usually bouncing up and down on her knees and crooning a bit...  Hahahhaaa...I hope we all have that pure feeling of satisfaction when we reach June 2014.

I'll be posting a link up mid-month to check in on how everyone participating in Fabriholics Anonymous is doing...in the meantime think of some steps you are going to take to help you along the way.  Unsubscribing from your favorite fabric shop newsletters?  No more stops into your LQS when you run the usual errands?  What are you going to do to get you through the next 6 months?

Happy New Year!

OMG, the pressure on the rest of us to keep the stores in business for when you are finally ready to shop again. I shall do my best, you can count on me. Happy New Year too and all the best to you and your family, especially this cute one, for the new year.

My plan....Get excited about my new quilts/projects that I am making with my stash. I just started wirking 5 days a week a fews ago(instead of 2-3), so that will help too.

I actually don't think it will be an issue for me, at least for the first few months. I tried to find something to buy from a post christmas fabric sale and just couldn't get excited about anything!

I'm hyperventilating a bit.

I bought a few things last week but I am at my LQS at least twice a month for clubs! It is going to be really hard! That little one is sure a cutie!

I've started two new scrap quilts to be made totally from my scrap containers and it feels good. I even resisted the urge to do a last minute fabric order just yo get a fabric fix! My stash us my new shop and I am looking forward to shopping from it in the nectar 6 months at least :)

I'm busting with admiration at your commitment to a fabric fast. Alas, I know myself too well and can't join. But you've inspired me to start a fabric diet today and create a 47-item list of stash projects to make. I'm with you in spirit!

there was a sale at my local quilt shop today - 30% off!!! can you believe I didn't go?! okay, the fact that I got sick and threw up last night had something to do with that, but I was also pretty determined that I would not break the fast on the very first day. that would just be too embarrassing. see, it's working already!

Well I think I can handle it, but realised how low I am on the plainer fabrics, neutrals, greys etc. so I do wish I had thought of stocking up on these earlier!!
