I...know...devastating.
However, I have been assured by the gentleman who is cleaning it that it will be totally fine and good as new once he is done tuning/cleaning it.
WHEW HEW HAPPY DANCE HAPPY DANCE HAPPY DANCE!!!
But.
Ah yes, the but. Two things
1. I have had no sewing machine since last Saturday and I am getting totally antsy.
2. As a result of having no sewing machine I took my serger out to mess with that and well it turns out it is broken.
WHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...
Clearly the internal debate has now begun as to whether I need to have a serger. After all, I haven't used it recently. But on the other hand I was planning on using it...A Lot! Summer clothes, summer dresses, little girls skirts, shirts, hats, and swimsuits!
It is time to regroup. If I can make it until next Wednesday when my

Major bummer! I have no plan B if my machine breaks. Hope yours will be fine
Oh dear - maybe some hand stitching ?
Buy fabric. Plan projects. Or get yourself placed into a medically induced coma until said time to pick up machine.
A bit of hand sewing....Di x
Perfect time to go through those books and magazines to pick out your next few projects, pick out the material and start cutting it up! How many kits can you get to the "all cut and ready to sew" stage before your machine comes home? It is also a good time to weed out those books and magazines you are no longer interested in keeping...time to sell or gift them...you need to make room for more, right?
oh no!! :( Glad the sewing machine is in safe hands though!
I think cutting and prep sounds like a good idea!
Sewing machine gone. Serger broken? Devastating! I have another two sewing machines but not my favorites. I need to get my main machine serviced. I plan to drop it off before going out of town so I don't start jonesing for it.
oh, being without a machine can be so awful! If you have some cutting to do, that might help. I have a bad tendency to do more fabric shopping and plan more WIPs when I don't have a machine to sew with. Do you have some hand sewing to work on? I tried sewing on my son's machine last time mine was being serviced, but that just made it worse because it only took a few inches to remind me why I love my walking foot so much. Maybe the best thing to do would be to work at geting ahead of chores and such so that you can clear a big block of time on Wednesday to do nothing but sew - that first sewing session after being without does so much to soothe frazzled nerves!
Hmmmm....distractions. You have four! Haha! Seriously, how about picking up yarn and hook and making hats for your three super models? :)
I have one word for you: knitting!
