End of the Rainbow! Score! Q1 2013 FAL

Rainbow Quilt
The Rainbow Quilt is finally finished!  I love it.  I am just going to let the photos do the talking for this one...  If you'd like to read more about how this quilt came about please go here.  ;)

Miss E is away this week visiting her Grandparents...isn't she going to be SO EXCITED to come home to her quilt.  I may just have to bring it with when I pick her up so that she can enjoy it during our epic (8+ hrs or so) car ride home!

Anyone who reads MRL regularly knows that I am the biggest project finishing procrastinator there is.  Let's just say I tend to take a lot of detours.  Which, I will have you know, statistically leads to bigger and more creative ideas than those people who work from start to finish on a single project - or so I heard recently on NPR and who am I to argue with that?  Then again those start-to-finish folk get a whole hell of a lot more done than us crazy over thinkers...  Anyway, I digress.

In my Q1 FAL Post I pledged to have 2 quilts finished for Q1 and well...I finished 1.  For me that is a pretty good.  50%?  I will Take It!

she can quilt

Seriously go check out all the finishes linked up...it is ridiculous!

And while I am here I am also going to link up to TGIFF.  Because it is Friday...and I can.  Wink!

It is wonderful that you finished but your photos are not showing up. Maybe you need to change their permissions?

Permissions are irrelevant. Sometimes Flickr is picky. Should be working now!

It's gorgeous!!! How did you decide to.quilt it?? I recall some email exchanges about that and it is hard to tell in the photos.

Just gorgeous. Love the way you've used negative space to work it all together!

Yay! It looks great and she is going to be over the moon. :) I love the bright backing and the binding, too.

She's a beauty! I love your choice of quilting on this quilt. I had a chuckle when you mentioned the detours you take - me too!!

Oh, wow, it's stunning! Miss E is going to be thrilled that it's finished - she'll know it means you've been thinking about her a lot while she's been on 'holiday'. I can't wait to see a photo of her all wrapped up in it and grinning from ear to ear!

It's a gorgeous finish and I just love that first photo - here's to enjoying the process, our craft and not racing on to the next project.
