UFO's MRL Style

Let's face it.  This baby is Kicking My @!#.  Alright, to be fair, it isn't all him/her...it is his/her's sisters, the consistently indecisive "is this Winter or Spring weather" we are experiencing, and my full time job all ganging up on me.  Whoever is to blame I am constantly tired and unmotivated.  At 32 weeks pregnant I suppose no one has any right to judge my "laziness" but at the same I am more than a bit disappointed in my lack of motivation and yet even that disappointment fails to get me moving on my list of projects.

Well, with that said, I was able to get my bum in gear to go to the playground with my girls yesterday and took some decent shots of them playing.  It was during my review of these shots that I came across some older photos of quilt tops I have started and left unfinished.  WINCE  Unfinished Objects...oooh they can sting.  Ick I hate being faced with the fact that I may have bit off more than I can chew...awful feeling really...

Remember any of these?

Dead Simple Quilt

The Flight Across

Hummingbirds & Hexagons

Spinning Stars Pink Block with Loulouthi

And some of you know these are just the ones I have "somewhat finished."  [Anyone remember the Across the Sea quilt?  Yup, still have that in my sewing room waiting to be finished...  Oh and Helen don't even MENTION the Tumbling Blocks.]  Eeeew, makes me cringe.  These are all at different stages, some have quilt backs prepared, some are mid-quilting, some I never found backs for, and the Spinning Stars doesn't even have a completed top yet!  Yuck, yuck, tsk tsp Rebecca Lynne.

Alright.  I am going to set my sights low.  Rebecca Lynne, let's compromise shall we?  Why not finish one of these completely before Baby No. 3 is born.  What do you think?  H&H is already half quilted...I should just set my mind on finishing that quilt and at least something will be complete!  I'd love to have The Flight Across with me in the hospital as it is really meaningful to our lives since we moved here...so maybe that can be low goal #2.  See?  Already jumping ahead...first things first...

In an effort to be positive: I still LOVE these quilt tops, the worst is when you put so much time into a quilt top and then aren't into it anymore.  I don't suffer from that affliction yet thanks goodness.  If I can get my act into gear hopefully I won't reach that stage with these quilts!

Wish me luck tackling these UFOs!  Anything you are trying to get done these days but can't seem to pull the trigger?  I'd love to hear...

I'm sorry to hear you're having a hard time. No definate on whether it's a boy or a girl either? :(

I love all of these quilts! Especially "The Flight Across". I have so many unfinished projects, so I can definately relate to all that. Just not the growing a baby thing and taking care of two other little ones. I'll be here cheering you on!

There you are! So good to see a post from you. I've been thinking about you.. Don't even beat yourself up about your UFO's. You started a full time job AND a pregnancy, and that is all a lot to take on, (ONE is a lot but you are doing BOTH!) plus all of the winter colds/sicknesses, crazy weather, busy kids.. just take it one step at a time. If you want the Flight Across with you in the hosp. just focus on that one. :o) All of your projects are gorgeous, and they will be there waiting happily for you and not judging you on how quickly you finish them! :o)

I remember them all Rebecca and they are going to be amazing. I have masses of WIPs and UFOs and I`m not 32 weeks pregnant and working! Enjoy these last weeks with your girls and take your time. There`s no hurry. Really. x

I'm chuckling as I was just wondering whether you were going to completely skip over the TBs and pretend they didn't exist and then I read your sentence about them - you know me too well!! All the quilts are great - I think you should pick the one that speaks to you the most and work on that. So what if you don't finish it? At least you'll have made progress. Oh, and put the other WIPs somewhere you can't see them so they don't taunt you! Take care xx

oh my love!! these are all so beautiful :) Glad they've not vanished ;) I agree with Helen and I'd love to see you finish The Flight Across because it's your pattern! The Dead Simple is stunning, love those colours and the Spinning Stars is yummy! Is the H&H the one you were doing big fmq flowers on?? If so, finish it so I can look on in awe :)
I remember this stage in pregnancy and can't imagine how you can even think of quilts with your job and kids too!! I would get nothing done in the same position!!
Lovely seeing your post and great projects :)

Hi Rebecca! Nice to see an update from you. Sorry that you are feeling so lousy...just do what feels right for you. Everyone has UFO's, even without a busy life like yours. Take care kiddo!

Hello Rebecca! Whoever said being pregnant was easy? It's okay not to get everything done, really, it is. I really like the H & H quilt, it is ravishingness itself. Don't be so hard on yourself, and just enjoy your quilting & your kids. P.S. Having 3 children makes it triple tough to find quilting time, but it can still be done. I have 3 boys, myself. Have a super day!

All of these are beautiful and they'll be wonderful when they're quilted but as others have said, you've got a lot on your plate! Relax and be happy - the UFOs can wait x

I'm new to your blog and can't remember how I got here!! That's my old age kicking in I suppose or Fibro fog. LOL!! I'm a retired teacher who now keeps my 3 yr. old grandson and loves to quilt and sew but have so many UFO's it's ridiculous!!! So don't beat yourself up sweetie!! Don't wish this baby to come too soon even though you are exhausted. My daughter had a premature baby boy at 32 weeks...weighed 4 lbs....he had a stroke inutero which caused the premature labor we later found out. She thought she was just "leaking" and had no idea it was her placenta fluid leaking or she would have not waited till her next Dr. appt. James is now 4 1/2 and has mild Cerebral Palsy but is learning to walk in a walker and is smart as a whip!! My daughter encourages mothers to be patient and make note of EVERY little change and not WAIT!!! She is thrilled to have James as we all are and he teaches us all about life, love and true happiness. Have a safe and healthy delivery. I've joined up as a new follower and hope to see baby pics soon.
Blessings
