The Flight Across |
Last night I had a beautiful dinner with the Mr. in the fancy restaurant in town. Yes, there is allegedly only one fancy restaurant here, middle of nowhere remember? A bottle of red wine later and a full belly later I came home determined to finish this quilt top before we left for our friend's wedding today. At first I hesitated...should I really be sewing after drinking? Hahahahaa I said to myself... let's do this.
Voila! She is done! And named - The Flight Across.
And yes, I forced the Mr. to go outside in the rain so I could take pictures this morning! Hahahahaa...do you see the rain splatter?

In retrospect the name symbolizes so much going on in our lives right now, we are definitely flying across life ourselves and learning new things about our lives and our goals. This is such a different quilt style for me, so minimal, so much solid, so modern. Purple? So not Rebecca Lynne and yet I can't wait to quilt her, fold her up, and use her over and over again. Personally I LOVE it. She's a keeper.
Must hop offline now to finish up other things before leaving for our next wedding. Oh, for those keeping track VEIL IS DONE!!! Beading looks awesome...
Linking up to Freshly Pieced - do check out the other amazing things going on over there...

Bee-utiful! Sorry, couldn't help myself! Love the name too, even though you didn't make use of my very thoughtful suggestion! Ha! Have a great week-end.
Nice to see that you're coming over to the... purple side. ;)
Rain never stopped a crafter on a mission!! hehe The quilt top is great, SO unique!! Looking forward to seeing it all finished.

I love it! That color is so gorgeous. Am I remembering Raisin correctly? And Honey, you have already heard my views on wine and FMQ. It only makes it better!
It's looking gorgeous in the dark purple! I love the dragonfly print!
Rebecca-- really love the wine color. I like the way your piece seems to just float. Hugs-- How are your quilties coming. Mail out is this Saturday. Don't forget :o)
103?! WooHoo!! Party @ your house!! Been missing your posts/comments, etc. Sounds like you've been crazy busy. I love Flying Across and all of the purple. To be honest, when I saw it unfinished, I couldn't picture it, but now I see it and it will look great quilted!! Looking forward to the PAL. In my world PALS stands for Pediatric Advanced Life Support. I like that PAL stands for @ MRL better! MUCH better. :) Safe travels to the wedding.. email me sometime (with all your spare time. haaha)

Ahh! I am so proud, girl! Trying something new, and making a deadline?? You're a beast! Have a GREAT time at your friends wedding! oh, and there is totally nothing wrong with enjoying some wine before sewing, it makes the seams straighter! (says the girl who sews while medicated) :)
