Ugh. (Thursday Think Tank)

Spending my evening cursing at the television while watching the First Presidential Debate. Hope your Wednesday night was better spent!

Here is my question to you for the week... If you met a fabric store owner what would you ask them? What would you be dying to know? Discuss. ;)

I agree about cursing at the debate. And the after debate discussions are just as bad..... Anyway... I'd want to know how they decide which fabrics to order. How the choose out of so much variety

Oh, I agree about the debates, and with Cathy. That is exactly what I would ask them, how they go about deciding on their inventory. I cut out little Reubenita tonight. :o)

I would ask how much of their profits they spend on buying more fabric to take home with them. It's be like working i a clothing store and always coming home from work with a new dress. Or a book store and having every new release on your shevles at home (you can tell I've fantasized about working in a book shop!)

I would ask about their most popular fabric - it would be really interesting to see what people buy and whether it is affected by a project that is on a blog or by the season (ie the colours would change). A bit nerdy but I would find that fascinating!

All of the above! Plus whether they notice if people tend to buy the same fabrics together (without it being a bundle or in the same line, etc.) and whether they ever make up projects in their heads about what the customer is making with their order (or stories about where it's going, etc.). Or maybe I'm just odd and other people don't 'fabric order' watch like they 'people watch'!!

I'd ask if they actually made a profit because I am sure that I would not as I would be using all the fabrics for myself.
