COMING SOON: My Memories Suite Giveaway!!! Sneak Peak...

I have been giving the My Memories Suite digital scrapbooking software a try and so far so amazing.  I find that it isn't so much different than other software I have used for digital scrapbooking...which makes it intuitive to use...but the differences I have encountered make it better than other softwares I own.

Here is a sneak peak of what I like about the software so far...

Word Art Designer
One of the things I like is the inclusion of the Word Art Designer on the Control Panel.  This allows you to make art out of the words you are using in your design.  It goes beyond the basic font type, shadow, sizing et cetera.  In fact, what makes it really awesome in my opinion is that you don't have to highlight your text to change it.  If you are clicked onto the text box you can just go right onto the Control Panel and fool around with settings without having to highlight.  How many times have I been on the text box in other programs but hadn't highlighted the text and I am fiddling with the settings only to realize, duh, I have to also highlight it.  I know, minor detail, but seriously annoying when you are in the middle of creating something!

Photos
Another MUST HAVE in any digital software program is the flexibility to use your own clipart/photos/imagery.  I prefer to use copyright free imagery in my work in order to be able to share my piece in whatever fashion I want without worrying about infringement (I'm a lawyer, remember?).  Also, I have a thing for vintage imagery and I don't want to be held back by software that requires that you only use the designs available for their program.  The Point of all this?  You do not have to use a template or kit!  My Memories Suite allows you to easily use whatever image you'd like to upload from your computer into your piece.  From there you can do the usual manipulating of placement, size, cropping and the like.

To feature both the ability to use Word Art Designer and Photos I have created a quick Thank You Card.  I literally whipped this up tonight in about an hour after opening the digital scrapbooking software for the first time and it just shows how user friendly the My Memories Suite software is.

The imagery & embellishments in this Thank You are completely from My Computer and not from the My Memories kits.  The only My Memories visual addition here is the text in which I utilized the Word Art Designer.

In the next post about My Memories Suite I am going to write about the digital kits that are available through My Memories.  I have been eyeing a few cute possibilities!  I'll also have another example of something I create...I'm thinking maybe Halloween themed?

Don't forget...My Memories has offered to give a copy of My Memories Suite software to one of my readers in a giveaway hosted here on making rebecca lynne.  If you are interested in winning digital scrapbooking software for free STAY TUNED and STAY CONNECTED.  The giveaway will begin this Friday August 26, 2011 and a winner will be chosen on Tuesday August 30, 2011.

Spread the word about the upcoming giveaway with your friends!
