Short and Sweet - Thursday Think Tank October 6, 2011

Thursday Think Tank

Short & Sweet - like me!  Hahaha NO.  That would be Short & Sassy!  This Think Tank post is going to be a short one because it is 11:36pm and I have been busy this evening cuddling with the Mr. while beading a veil.  Yes that's right...beading a veil.  You didn't think I was sitting around just snoodling did you?  Dirty minds!

Frame Pouch Pouch-Along
Many of you have left me some rocking comments on my recent pouch extravaganza going on under this roof of mine.  [I have another design in mind for a pouch, I know I really have to get myself under control!]  Thank you so much for the feedback, I DO appreciate it!  You may think I don't, but I really take every critique to heart because I value everyone's unique perspective!  Really!  But, honestly that is a whole different post for a different day...

A few of you told me that you are intimidated by the frame and I've pshawed that sentiment completely via email.  I sent a great tutorial link to a few people...and Patti has even gotten so excited that she has already ordered her frame pouch making supplies!  So I thought - hunh, maybe we should just do this together?  I mean, why not?  We sew quilts together...why not have a pouch-along?  A PAL if you will.  Hahahahaa a PAL with my pals (sorry, very tired).

The holidays are coming up.  What woman, be it yourself or a friend, could not use a special little bag to carry around her essentials to all those inevitable holiday visits and parties?  Let's do it ladies!

Like this post, making a frame pouch is short & sweet (or in my case sassy) so it won't be as long as a QAL.  All together a pouch won't take more than a few hours to make...and we can do it as a group via internet in a week or two of spaced out posts?  I haven't worked out the details yet...just thought I would put out a feeler.  I for one would love to see all of your personalities expressed in cute little handbags with each of your unique color and fabric choices represented!  Ah!  How exciting would that be?!  I am thinking November if that would work for you...  Enough time for pre-holiday planning and supply gathering.

Cross-stitched iPod Cover
Well, after that announcement my next idea pales in comparison.  But...on second thought...in light of the recent - okay very recent - passing of Steve Jobs this idea is apropos.  He will be missed!  My thoughts go out to his family and friends.  Really eerie that I had earmarked this idea for this Thursday before anything had happened.  Well Steve...as an Apple, Inc. convert I dedicate this one to you...

wow. you're good, lady! I've wondered about doing a quilt along but making it a shorter, less of a commitment type of a deal. Much like a pouch! This totally appeals to me as I started sewing by making little bags. Never did a frame pouch, though! Count me in, price permitting :D

Not sure about another pouch - probably could be tempted... Fab iphone covers :)

You better believe I'm in on this! The only reason I haven't made a pouch yet is because I have yet to buy frames. That can easily change though. ;)

I am totally in too! Sounds like fun! I am always hesitant to do QALs b/c of the time commitment, but this would be perfect. What kind of supplies are we looking at? I have never made a pouch with frames so have no idea if there are any special tools involved etc. Love the i-phone covers.. cool. :)

Count me in for the Pouch Along. I have yet to make a pouch with a frame, so you've motivated me.
